Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2024
Overview
VideoLab (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it when you use our video testing tool at https://videolab.dev.
Data We Do Not Collect
VideoLab is a client-side tool. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Video URLs you test
- Video files you upload
- Playback debug logs you generate
- Referrer settings or custom headers you configure
- Any personally identifiable information
All video playback happens directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible Analytics or similar) to understand aggregate usage patterns — pages visited, browser types, and general geographic regions. This data is never sold and does not identify individual users.
Advertising
VideoLab may display Google AdSense advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Cookies
VideoLabitself does not set first-party cookies. Third-party services (Google AdSense, embedded YouTube/Vimeo players) may set their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo's DNT mode where possible.
Local Files
When you upload a local video file, it is loaded using the browser's File API into a temporary object URL. This object URL exists only in your browser tab and is automatically revoked when you navigate away or upload a new file. No file data is ever transmitted to any server.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
